PULLMAN, WA — Two nurses from Pullman Regional Hospital’s BirthPlace have been honored with a Team DAISY Award, a recognition given through an international program that celebrates nurses for extraordinary compassion and skill.
Sarah Garibaldo and Jessie Roe were nominated by a grateful patient who praised them for their outstanding care during the delivery of her baby. The patient highlighted the confidence and trust she felt under their care, noting that the nurses “stepped up to ensure the healthy delivery of our baby.”
The recognition is rooted in a shared professional journey between the two nurses. Garibaldo began working at Pullman Regional Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant at age 19, motivated by personal experiences in healthcare. Roe joined in 2015 as a CNA student, and was trained by Garibaldo. Years later, Garibaldo also mentored Roe when she returned as a registered nurse after completing nursing school. Roe’s passion for nursing was sparked by her own experience giving birth at the hospital, where she felt inspired by the care she received.
The DAISY Award program, established to recognize the exceptional work of nurses, is presented in hospitals around the world. More information about the program, including how to nominate a nurse, is available at www.pullmanregional.org/daisy-award.
