PULLMAN, WA – Volunteer Firefighters extinguished a field fire West of Pullman Monday afternoon.

Whitman County Emergency Management Director Bill Tensfeld reports that Fire District 13 out of Onecho was called to the blaze along Long Hollow Road around 2:00.

Tensfeld says the fire burned about 30 acres of agricultural fields, an abandoned home and a couple of outbuildings.  A firefighting helicopter was called in to help fight the flames.  There’s no word on what sparked the fire but harvest is underway in that part of Whitman County.
