GLENNS FERRY, ID – The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office is seeking additional information and potential victims after a Glenns Ferry man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a Boise Police officer and forging official law enforcement documents.
Eddie Reynolds, 19, was taken into custody by Boise Police on July 4 following an investigation led by the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office. Officers located Reynolds at a Boise residence, where they observed a Boise Police Department uniform hanging visibly in the backseat of a parked vehicle. Further investigation uncovered forged documents falsely identifying Reynolds as a POST-certified peace officer and graduate of a Boise Police Department academy.
According to investigators, Reynolds had been seen wearing the uniform in the Glenns Ferry area and presenting himself as a Boise Police officer to both family members and the public. Authorities also allege Reynolds impersonated personnel from the Boise and Glenns Ferry Fire Departments and falsely claimed to be an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
He was arrested on a felony warrant for impersonating a peace officer and additionally charged with forging or counterfeiting public seals. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
Law enforcement agencies are working to determine how Reynolds obtained the uniforms and official insignia. Anyone who believes they may have encountered Reynolds in an official capacity or has further information is asked to call or text Elmore County Dispatch at 208-587-2100.
The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
