MOSCOW, ID – The City of Moscow announced Thursday it will establish a dedicated website to release public records related to the high-profile Kohberger homicide investigation once legally permitted.
Prompted by significant public and media interest, the city plans to make available Moscow Police Department investigatory reports that are not sealed by court order. These documents will be posted at no cost to reduce the administrative burden on city staff and improve access to public records. However, officials emphasized that all investigatory records remain protected from release until sentencing is complete, per Idaho law.
Public records requests for these materials will continue to be denied until sentencing concludes. Once the records can be legally released, the city will issue a separate press release with the website address and access instructions.
City officials also clarified that investigatory reports from other agencies—such as the Idaho State Police, Latah County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and others—are maintained by those respective agencies. Requests for those documents must be made directly to them.
For more information, the public may contact Moscow Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger at (208) 883-7115 or City Administrator Bill Belknap at (208) 883-7011.
