Law Enforcement Assists Border Patrol After Suspects Flee Traffic Stop in Northern Idaho

BONNERS FERRY, ID – A U.S. Border Patrol traffic stop near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Loop and Highway 95 in Boundary County escalated Friday morning when three individuals fled from the vehicle on foot.

According to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and officers from the Bonners Ferry Police Department responded to assist federal agents. One man was apprehended by Border Patrol at the scene, while two others fled west toward the south end of Pleasant Valley Road.

Despite a coordinated search involving all available local law enforcement personnel, the two remaining individuals were not found. Authorities suspect the men may be in the country unlawfully.

The U.S. Border Patrol remains in the area conducting follow-up operations, while the local agencies have since cleared the scene.
