EPHRATA, WA – A former employee of Royal Dairy in Grant County is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing and selling cattle belonging to the business.
Alejandro Buenrostro Munguia, 29, of Ephrata, was arrested on July 16, 2025, following an investigation sparked by a tip from a Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Brand Inspector. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies and members of the agency’s crime reduction team acted on the information, which led to Buenrostro Munguia’s arrest.
Authorities allege that while working at Royal Dairy, Buenrostro Munguia sold livestock owned by the dairy at an auction. He has been booked into jail on 26 counts of first-degree theft of livestock, as well as charges of first-degree trafficking in stolen property, possession of stolen property, removal or alteration of livestock brands, and forgery.
