WINCHESTER, ID – Marshall’s Meats has announced plans to reopen in early September after a fire last December forced the locally owned meat shop to close for repairs. According to a recent Facebook post, a soft reopening is planned for September 1, with a public grand opening event set for September 6.
The business stated it will resume beef and hog processing next month. Beef appointments are now being scheduled for 2026 and beyond, while hogs will be accepted beginning September 1 without the need for advance booking.
The timing of the reopening means the facility will not be available to process animals immediately following the Idaho County Fair. However, the business indicated it has informed the fair board that it will accept hogs if buyers are able to house them for an additional week. All subsequent fairs are expected to proceed without issue.
Customers who placed orders before the fire and opted to wait for fulfillment will begin receiving their products during the first week of September, once cutting operations are fully restored.
