LEWISTON, ID – A construction project to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer main near the intersection of 16th Avenue and 16th Street is set to begin Monday, July 28, according to the City of Lewiston’s Public Works Department.
The work will take place weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is expected to last approximately three weeks. During this time, lane widths on 16th Avenue will be reduced from 13th Street to 17th Street, and some access points to 16th Avenue will be closed. While no full detour is planned, drivers should anticipate slower traffic, particularly during peak travel times.
Local access to properties will be maintained throughout the project. However, oversized vehicles and large trucks are advised to seek alternate routes due to the narrower lanes.
Officials note that construction schedules may change due to unforeseen circumstances and ask for the public’s patience and cooperation.
