Southern Idaho Man Caught with Massive Drug Stash, Suspected of Selling to Juveniles

 

MERIDIAN, ID – A 20-year-old man from Meridian has been arrested on multiple drug charges following a multi-week investigation by local authorities.

On June 23, 2025, detectives from the Meridian Police Department, with assistance from the Garden City Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 4000 block of South Glenmere Way. Dakota Hinton was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Ada County Jail without incident.

The investigation began after a community member submitted a tip regarding suspected illegal activity. Detectives believe Hinton had been distributing illegal drugs to juveniles in the area.

During the search, police recovered over 600 grams of marijuana, more than 450 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, approximately 150 THC cartridges, and additional drug paraphernalia. Hinton is now facing felony charges for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Meridian Police Department emphasized the importance of community involvement in helping to maintain public safety and expressed gratitude to the Garden City Police Department for their support. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
