ATLANTA, GA– Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball exemplified what it means to be a student-athlete with top marks in the classroom as well as in the field of play. The Warrior women were recognized as part of the WBCA Academic Top 25 with the 15th-best team GPA in the NAIA. LC State finished the 2024-25 school year with a 3.647 grade point average.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women’s basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
“A big congratulations to our team for this academic achievement,” coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “I am always proud of the way they dedicate themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom and they do a fantastic job of representing the term student-athlete.”
LC State Women’s Basketball had the highest team GPA in the Cascade Conference. Four players had a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the spring in Sitara Byrd, Bella Firnkoess, Ellie Sander and Lindsey Wilson. Ten student-athletes had a GPA of at least 3.75 and 13 were above a 3.50.
