MOSCOW, ID – The 51-year-old Moscow man convicted of locking his ex-girlfriend in a storage unit is going to prison. Michael Dahl was sentenced by Judge Megan Marshall in Latah County Second District Court on Thursday. Judge Marshall sentenced Dahl to up to 10 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole after two years.
Dahl pleaded guilty in May to felony 2nd degree kidnapping. He was arrested by Moscow Police in March after officers responded to a report of a woman screaming from inside a storage unit at an apartment complex on 3rd Street. The door to the unit was screwed shut and officers had to force the door open to rescue the woman. Dahl locked her in the unit while she was doing laundry, screwed the door shut and threatened to shave her face off. She was locked in the unit for about an hour.
Dahl fled the scene and was arrested at his home.
