SWAT Team Assists in Spokane Valley Domestic Violence Arrest After Four-Hour Standoff

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – A 58-year-old woman was taken into custody late Thursday night following a prolonged standoff with law enforcement after a reported domestic violence assault.

Deputies with the Spokane Valley Police Department responded to a home in the 10100 block of E. 15th Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on July 24, 2025, after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance. The victim told authorities that Tandy C. Parker assaulted him during an argument that escalated after both parties had been drinking. While no weapon was used in the assault, investigators learned Parker had access to firearms inside the residence.

Officers observed visible injuries consistent with the victim’s account and received corroborating information from a witness at the scene. With probable cause established for Assault in the Fourth Degree (Domestic Violence), deputies attempted to contact Parker, but she refused to cooperate.

Due to the suspect’s refusal to surrender and the presence of firearms in the home, deputies obtained a search warrant and called for assistance from the SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiators, the Spokane Regional Air Support Unit, and other specialized units. Authorities spent nearly four hours attempting to deescalate the situation and convince Parker to surrender peacefully.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., after repeated unsuccessful efforts to make contact, SWAT members entered the residence and safely arrested Parker without incident.

She was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) and Resisting Arrest. Parker is currently being held without bond pending her first court appearance.
