RATHDRUM, ID – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on State Highway 53, according to the Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on July 26, near milepost 5. Authorities say a blue 1997 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound when it veered off the right shoulder and collided with a group of trees.
The driver, the only person in the vehicle, was ejected in the crash. Emergency responders attempted CPR, but the man died at the scene from his injuries. His identity has not been released, but next of kin have been notified.
State Highway 53 was partially blocked for approximately two and a half hours while Idaho State Police investigated the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
