Search for Travis Decker Scales Back, U.S. Marshals Continue Offering $20,000 Reward

CHELAN COUNTY, WA – After nearly two months of intensive efforts, the search for triple homicide suspect Travis Decker has been scaled back, according to a July 25 update from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. While the active search footprint has decreased due to a decline in credible leads, the criminal investigation remains ongoing.

Decker, who is accused of killing his three young daughters near the Rock Island campground on June 1, has not been seen since. Despite an exhaustive search involving dozens of law enforcement agencies, aerial support, swift water teams, and specialized K9 units, authorities say there is still no confirmation of whether Decker is alive or deceased.

Recent efforts were concentrated in the Blewett Pass area north of Mineral Springs campground, where investigators pursued potential evidence. However, officials said the information gathered in that area was inconclusive and cannot be directly tied to Decker at this time.

As bear hunting season and summer outdoor recreation continue, authorities are asking the public to remain vigilant. Outdoor enthusiasts in backcountry areas of Chelan and Kittitas Counties are urged to report any suspicious items, campsites, or possible sightings by calling 911. If safe to do so, officials suggest marking the GPS location and even photographing the area for follow-up.

Meanwhile, the United States Marshals Service continues to offer a reward of up to $20,000 for information that leads directly to Decker’s arrest. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Decker is advised not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.

Tip lines remain open:

Investigators continue to process evidence and follow up on any new tips that come in. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that although the visible search presence has decreased, efforts to locate and bring Decker to justice remain a priority.
