KOOSKIA, ID – A traffic stop conducted during a highway safety patrol in Kooskia led to the arrest of a 68-year-old man on multiple charges, including felony drug possession.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 7:53 p.m. on July 25, 2025. A deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling along the centerline. During the stop, K9 Millie was deployed and reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics.
A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the report.
The driver, identified as Marvin Mendenhall, was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, as well as misdemeanor charges for possession of paraphernalia, resisting and obstructing officers, and concealment of evidence.
Law enforcement emphasized that the charges are allegations, and the individual is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
