OROFINO, ID – A 75-year-old Orofino man was airlifted to a regional hospital following an ATV accident Sunday evening.

According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 8:58 p.m. on July 27 to a report of a single-vehicle ATV crash near 1837 Wells Bench Road. Donald L. Pitcher was riding an ATV on private property when the incident occurred.

Pitcher reportedly sustained a possible head injury in the crash. He was initially transported by ambulance to Clearwater Valley Hospital and later flown to an out-of-area medical facility by LifeFlight for further treatment.

No additional details about the cause of the crash have been released at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
