PULLMAN, WA – Pullman Regional Hospital has welcomed Jennifer Sawmiller, PA-C, to the Palouse Heart Center, where she will work alongside Cardiologist Dr. Marek Janout to enhance regional access to cardiology services.
Sawmiller, a certified physician assistant, brings a background in family medicine and emergency care, with experience in both rural and urgent settings. Her interest in cardiology was sparked during her time in emergency medicine, where she frequently treated patients with heart-related issues. This exposure fostered a strong passion for preventive cardiology and the long-term management of chronic heart conditions.
“I believe in empowering patients through education so they can make informed choices about their heart health,” Sawmiller said in a statement.
She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Spanish Secondary Education from Boise State University. Prior to her new role, she worked at Cascade Medical Center in Cascade, Idaho, focusing on emergency care, women’s health, and the treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
Appointments at the Palouse Heart Center can be made by referral or by calling (509) 336-7577. The clinic is located inside Pullman Regional Hospital and operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information is available at pullmanregional.org/palouse-heart-center.
