CLARKSTON, WA – A 47-year-old woman was arrested in Clarkston on Saturday for possession of a stolen vehicle after authorities say she took a car without permission from a family member.
Nezbeth Leonard was taken into custody after Clarkston Police located her with a red 2006 Chevy Matrix registered to a relative. The vehicle had been reported taken from an address in Orofino.
Officers found Leonard near the vehicle in an alley off 9th Street. After she drove away, they conducted a traffic stop on Diagonal Street and detained her.
Leonard told police she believed she had permission to use the vehicle. However, the registered owner denied giving permission, and another individual confirmed Leonard had been previously warned not to drive the vehicle.
She was booked into the Asotin County Jail.
