CULDESAC, ID – A 53-year-old Culdesac woman was arrested Monday following two separate calls to law enforcement that resulted in allegations of assault on deputies and the discovery of suspected methamphetamine paraphernalia.
According to court records, Jennifer P. Stokes was first contacted by deputies on July 28 after a report that she had dumped trash and was possibly prowling around a vehicle at a home on Chambers Road. The property owner identified Stokes and requested she be trespassed from the location.
Deputies were later called to another residence on Peer Lane where Stokes was reportedly trespassing again. Authorities said she was yelling and became combative when approached. As deputies attempted to speak with her, Stokes allegedly shoved one deputy in the chest and threw a cup of water at both deputies before falling to the ground and kicking at them as they tried to place her in handcuffs.
After gaining control of the situation, deputies conducted a search of Stokes’ purse and allegedly located a glass pipe with a burnt white residue and a second clear glass pipe. The items were consistent with drug paraphernalia commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, according to the report.
Stokes was transported to jail and charged with two felony counts of battery upon certain personnel, one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing officers, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges were formally filed in Nez Perce County Court on July 29, 2025.
