NORMAN, OK – A trio of Lewis-Clark State men’s golfers earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors for the 2024-25 academic year, announced by the GCAA on Tuesday.
Oscar Behle and Alex Navarro repeated with the honor, while Luke West earned the first of his career.
“More academic excellence to celebrate,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Extremely proud of these individuals and the work they put in on and off the course. Being awarded this accolade is a testament to what these student-athletes do on a daily basis. I am blessed to be surrounded by these individuals.”
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their school.
Behle concluded a two-year career with a perfect 4.0 GPA and a degree in business management, and earned All-Cascade Conference honors for the second year in a row. He averaged a score of 74.4 throughout CCC play.
Navarro maintains a 3.42 GPA while studying sport management. He wrapped up his playing career in strong fashion as a GCAA PING All-West Region honoree and earned All-CCC honors for the second straight season. He averaged a score of 72.7 throughout the season with a pair of individual wins.
West earned the honor in his first season being eligible with a 3.71 grade point average while studying business administration. He shot 76.5 on the season as a sophomore.
