CLARKSTON, WA – Local activists are preparing to gather as part of a nationwide day of protest known as Rage Against the Regime. The Clarkston demonstration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday on the sidewalks at the corner of 5th and Bridge Streets, in front of the Clarkston Albertsons.
The protest is being coordinated locally by LC Valley Indivisible and is one of many events planned across the country under the protest network referred to as 50501. Organizers say the effort is aimed at uniting communities in a shared purpose of resisting perceived injustices through non-violent but active protest.
According to an LC Valley Indivisible online post promoting the event, participants are encouraged to bring protest signs, noisemakers, and “a defiant attitude.” The group emphasized that while the movement is non-violent, it is “far from passive.”
“We stand strong, bold, and unyielding,” the post reads. “Showing the world the irresistible force of communities united against injustice.”
Saturday’s event is one of many set to take place nationwide as part of the Rage Against the Regime movement, which organizers describe as an effort to “transform anger into action” and make August 2 a “day of lasting impact.”
