PULLMAN, WA – The finalists for City of Pullman Administrator will meet with the public on Wednesday night. The names of the finalists haven’t been released yet by city officials. Their names will be made public on Tuesday. They will meet with citizens from 6:30 to 8:00 on Wednesday night at city hall. Mayor Francis Benjamin will nominate the hire which requires confirmation from Pullman City Council.
The city’s top administrative post opened in May when Mike Urban no longer held the job. City officials say Urban quit while Urban maintains that he was illegally fired and has threatened to sue the city. Urban’s departure was fallout from a scandal involving former Pullman Police Chief Jake Opgenorth who resigned in March. Urban was cleared of any wrongdoing by an independent investigator and was initially welcomed back to work by city hall.
City Finance Director Jeff Elbracht has been working as Interim City Administrator.
