KAMIAH, ID – Kamiah Fire-Rescue crews responded to two separate medical emergencies over the weekend, both requiring air transport by Life Flight, according to Fire Chief Billy Monahan.
In the first incident, a patient sustained fractured ribs after being accidentally run over by a side-by-side utility vehicle. Emergency crews responded and coordinated with Life Flight for transport.
In a second emergency, Kamiah Fire-Rescue was called to a report of a patient in cardiac arrest. CPR was already in progress prior to their arrival. According to Chief Monahan, the patient regained a pulse before being transported by Life Flight.
Chief Monahan expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and praised the efforts of all emergency personnel involved in both responses.
“Great job everyone,” Monahan said in a statement shared on behalf of the department.
