MOSCOW, ID — The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC), the longstanding breed registry and membership organization for Appaloosa horses, has announced plans to relocate its national headquarters to Oklahoma City this fall. The move follows the completed sale of the organization’s Moscow, Idaho, building, which it has occupied since 1974.

The more than 20,000-square-foot facility near the Idaho-Washington border was purchased by a local manufacturing company earlier this month. In the meantime, ApHC operations have transitioned to a temporary office as preparations begin for the move to Stockyards City in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

ApHC President Lori Wunderlich said the move will position the organization at the heart of the U.S. equine industry.

“There are many changes to the equine industry on the horizon,” Wunderlich said. “Our move to the Oklahoma stockyards will provide us with increased visibility in the center of ‘horse country.’ We will be better able to serve our current membership and introduce others to the Appaloosa breed with exposure to the many people who visit the stockyards daily. The board views this as a move for the future.”

The relocation is expected to take place as early as November 2025. The new headquarters will be located near Oklahoma City’s historic Cattlemen’s Steakhouse and the OKC Fair Park, which regularly hosts major equine events. The ApHC’s new address and contact number will be announced later this fall.

As part of the transition, many current staff members will continue working remotely. The organization said there will be no disruption to core services including registrations, ownership transfers, accounting, data processing, and competitions.

Oklahoma City was recently ranked the top city to live in the United States for 2025–2026 by U.S. News & World Report, citing affordable housing, a strong economy, and its ties to cowboy heritage and agriculture.

The Appaloosa Horse Club’s official website remains Appaloosa.com.
