BOISE, ID – Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador will lead a ceremony honoring four law enforcement officers for extraordinary acts of courage during the Idaho Medal of Honor Commission ceremony on Tuesday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. MT. The event will be held in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Idaho State Capitol.
The Idaho Medal of Honor, the state’s highest recognition for public safety professionals, will be presented to Officer Brian Quiterio of the Kimberly-Hansen Police Department, Sergeant Taylor Beach of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, and Sergeant Leon Dennis and Corporal Sikko Barghoorn of the Garden City Police Department.
Each officer is being recognized for heroic actions that saved lives while placing themselves in harm’s way. The ceremony will include an honor guard presentation by the Idaho State Police Honor Guard and the Caldwell Police Pipes and Drums. Citations detailing the officers’ bravery will be read during the medal presentations.
Attorney General Labrador, who serves as chair of the Idaho Medal of Honor Commission, will offer remarks in recognition of the officers’ service and valor.
