SPOKANE, WA – Spokane Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred downtown Thursday evening, which also led to a lengthy standoff on the Post Street Bridge.
Around 6:30 p.m. on August 7, officers were called to a report of three people fighting near the 800 block of West Spokane Falls Boulevard. Initial reports indicated that at least one person had been stabbed. Responding officers found an injured individual nearby and another male on the Post Street Bridge, threatening to harm himself.

The Major Crimes Unit is processing the scene, and the investigation remains in its early stages. Police are asking anyone with video of the incident who has not yet been contacted to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
