LEWISTON, ID – The Lewiston Fire Department responded at 10 p.m. to a reported grass fire in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue Boulevard.

First-arriving crews found a 40-by-60-foot fire burning on the hillside. Firefighters extinguished the flames within 10 minutes and remained on scene for another 10 minutes to check for hotspots.

The department responded with one structural engine, one brush truck and one chief officer, totaling six personnel.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
