Update – Lamb Fire Grows to 80 Acres, Evacuations in Place

As of 4:00 p.m. on August 11, the Lamb Fire south of Troy, Idaho, has expanded to approximately 80 acres near Driscoll Ridge Road and Lamb Road. Level 3 “Go” evacuation orders remain in effect for residents on Driscoll Ridge to Sumner Road, Bartho Lane, and Lamb Road, per the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple agencies are on scene, including aerial support from two Type 1 helicopters, two Single Engine Air Tankers, and air attack. Ground resources include crews from the Idaho Department of Lands, U.S. Forest Service, Teakean Type 2 Initial Attack Hand Crew, and rural fire departments from Deary, Moscow, and Troy.

The fire, reported around 2:15 p.m., remains under investigation. Updates are available on the Latah County Sheriff’s Facebook page.

TROY, ID — The Latah County Sheriff’s Office has issued a “Level 3: Go” evacuation order for the Lamb Fire, which has grown rapidly to approximately 50 acres. Officials report that 63 addresses are within the evacuation zone.

As of 3:24 p.m., evacuations are in place for areas along Driscoll Ridge Road and Lamb Road, outside of Troy. Residents on Driscoll Ridge to Sumner Road, Bartho Lane, and Lamb Road are directed to evacuate immediately.

Deputies have been going door to door to notify residents. Authorities ask the public to avoid the area to allow woodland firefighters to work to contain the fire.
