Southern Idaho Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in Hotel Shooting

NAMPA, ID — A 33-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting in a hotel parking lot on August 8, according to the Nampa Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 9:10 a.m. to the 4100 block of East Flamingo after receiving reports of a possible shooting. When they arrived, they found an adult male dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

The suspect, identified as Saengutone Ty Maria of Nampa, fled the scene but was later located in Ada County and arrested by Boise Police with assistance from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police. Authorities say additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

The Canyon County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name at a later time.

Nampa Police expressed appreciation to community members who provided descriptions of the suspect and his vehicle, which helped lead to his arrest.
