Warrior Men’s Track and Field Solidifies Roster Additions Ahead of 2025-26 Season

LEWISTON, ID – LC State Men’s Cross Country/Track and Field bolstered its roster heading int the 2025-26 school year with the addition of Michael Colvin, Bryan Kinene, Micah Fox and Chrisitan Lybyer. Lybyer will join the cross country team this fall while Colvin and Fox will add depth in track and field.

Christian Lybyer – Lewiston, Idaho/Lewiston High School

Lybyer is a Lewiston native that will add to the depth of the Warrior Cross Country team. He joins former teammate Kobe Wessels as former Bengals on the team. Lybyer also excelled in soccer where he helped LHS qualify for State for the first time in program history. Lybyer was a member of the golf team as well and was voted the Bengal of the Year for golf as a senior.

“I have known Christian for quite some time and am excited to see him come into our program,” coach Mike Collins said. “He is a quick learner and very excited about being on the team. His motivation to learn and get better will be contagious, so not only will we see big gains in him throughout the year, but he will also be having a positive influence on the performances of his teammates.”

Michael Colvin – Walla Walla, Wash./Walla Walla High School

Colvin prepped at Walla Walla High School and was voted the Most Improved after the 2023-24 season. Colvin, a sprinter, clocked times of 11.20 in the 100m, 23.50 in the 200m and 56.21 in the 400m. The team placed in the 4x100m relay at State.

“One of two young men coming from Walla Walla, and both are highly recommended by their coach and follow Cameron (Carrara) who came over last year and showed tremendous strides as a multi athlete,” Collins said. “Our sprint group will be incredibly deep this year and Michael shows great promise in the short sprints. His positive attitude and team philosophy will fit well into what our program is all about.”

Micah Fox – Fairfield, Idaho/Camas County High School

Fox prepped at Camas County High School where he excelled in the throws. He set the school record in the shot put with a mark of 47’10.5”. He has a career-best discus mark of 127’. Fox won the Sawtooth Conference title in the shot put and discus and helped the team to a conference title. He placed third in the shot put at the district meet and earned all-conference honors.

“Micah wasn’t sure he wanted to throw in college but then had a breakout year in the shot put and started looking at opportunities, and we feel fortunate that he was looking here,” Collins explained. “He fits well with the kind of athlete we are looking for: very motivated to get better, is on the upswing in performance and a great teammate. Excited to see how he develops as he adapts to the bigger implements.”

Bryan Kinene – Walla Walla, Wash./Walla Walla High School

Kinene, Colvin’s teammate at Walla Walla High School, will add depth in jumps for the Warriors. He has career-bests of 21’2” in the long jump, 43’19.75” in the triple jump and 5’8” in the high jump. He ranks ninth in school history in the triple jump and 18th in the long jump. Kinene was voted the team MVP in 2025.

“The second of our new Walla Walla athletes and a specialist in the jumps,” Collins said. “His triple jump marks are similar to Trent Johnson’s coming out of high school, which we hope means he will have a similar pattern of improvement and maybe even better having TJ as a teammate to also learn from. He has been enjoyable to visit with and genuinely fun to get to know. He undoubtedly will make the team better with both his personality and his athleticism.”
