Felony Grand Theft Suspect Arrested at Lolo Creek Campground

IDAHO COUNTY, ID — A 43-year-old man wanted on a felony grand theft warrant was taken into custody Tuesday during a campground check in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 12, an Idaho County deputy was assisting U.S. Forest Service and Idaho Fish and Game officers with a camp check off Forest Service Road 103 along Lolo Creek. Officers spoke with a woman who claimed to be the only person at the site, but the deputy spotted a man hiding underneath a parked vehicle.

The man was ordered out from under the vehicle and detained. Authorities confirmed his identity as Cody Horton, who had an active felony warrant out of Idaho County stemming from a stolen vehicle case on June 9, 2025.

Horton was arrested and booked on the felony grand theft warrant.
