LEWISTON, ID – The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday for much of the region due to strong winds and low relative humidity expected Wednesday.
The affected areas are shown on the map.
Forecasters expect west winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts between 30 and 40 mph. Relative humidity levels are forecast to drop between 13 and 24 percent.
The National Weather Service warns that these conditions could lead to rapid fire spread with any new or existing fires.
Officials urge residents to use caution and avoid activities that could ignite a fire.
