LEWISTON, ID – Bond has been set at $100,000 for the man who led police on a high-speed chase this week.  The chase ended after Idaho State Police executed a Precision Immobilization Technique maneuver on US95 near Lewiston.

At about 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday, dispatchers began receiving reports of a red Toyota RAV4 driving recklessly. Troopers were advised the driver, 40-year-old Isaac Holmes, was wanted for felony domestic battery out of Idaho County before getting behind the wheel.

Troopers located the vehicle traveling west on U.S. Highway 12 and attempted a traffic stop. Holmes allegedly fled at a high rate of speed, circling back multiple times on the highway and driving into oncoming lanes in an attempt to evade arrest.

To protect other motorists, troopers executed a Precision Immobilization Technique, causing the RAV4 to spin out and crash on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 95 near the Clearwater River Casino.

The vehicle caught fire, but troopers quickly put out the flames and arrested Holmes without further incident.

Holmes sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Police said Holmes’ blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit.

Holmes is charged with felony eluding, excessive driving under the influence, concealing a firearm while intoxicated, and having an open container of alcohol.

Holmes was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail.  He appeared in court on Wednesday.  Judge Victoria Olds set bond at $100,000.  A preliminary hearing has been set to August 27.
