SPOKANE, WA – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington announced that five individuals have been indicted on charges of Illegally Re-Entering the United States After Deportation.
All five individuals are Mexican nationals with prior criminal records, and each had previously been removed from the United States. Federal authorities noted that illegal re-entry is a criminal offense separate from civil immigration enforcement.
The individuals charged are:

Pablo Carmona-Carmona, 47, previously convicted of DUI in California and removed to Mexico twice. Carmona-Carmona was arrested by the Yakima Police Department on October 31, 2024, on charges of first- and second-degree child molestation. That case remains pending.

Rodolfo Cortes-Sorroza, 38, previously convicted of illegal re-entry and state-level convictions for assault and burglary. Cortes-Sorroza, removed to Mexico twice, was arrested on July 26, 2025, in Klickitat County on warrants for residential burglary and failure to appear.

Alfredo Ventura-Gutierrez (a/k/a Jose Ventura Dias), 48, previously convicted in California on felony domestic violence, DUI, violation of a restraining order, and illegal entry. Ventura-Gutierrez, removed to Mexico twice, was arrested on August 3, 2024, by Wapato Police Department on charges of second- and third-degree rape and two counts of violating a protective order. That case remains pending.

Carlos Antonio Moran-Arce, 52, previously convicted of illegal re-entry, theft, and battery in state court, removed to Mexico twice. Moran-Arce was arrested on April 24, 2025, by Yakima Police Department on charges of hit-and-run and harassment threatening to kill. That case remains pending.

Raul Partida-Farias, 50, previously convicted in Yakima County of being an alien in possession of a firearm and in Benton County for assault. Removed to Mexico once, he is currently facing DUI and possession of a stolen vehicle charges in Benton County, which remain pending.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the prosecutions are intended to deter future criminal conduct and disincentivize illegal entry or re-entry.
Investigations involved U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and other federal partners. The cases are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Letitia A. Sikes.
