SPOKANE, WA – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is asking for the public’s help in gathering information about a fatal collision that occurred on Interstate 90 west of Spokane on the morning of August 9.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., Sergeant Kenneth Salas of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department was struck and killed by a motorcycle while clearing debris from the roadway. The crash happened about 10 miles west of Spokane.
WSP investigators are seeking details about the incident, including the origin of a load of hay involved in the scene. They are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has photographs or video of the collision or the events leading up to it, contact authorities.
