LEWISTON, ID – Nez Perce County Fire crews responded to a fire at Summit Construction on Hatwai Road Monday evening.

The department said it was called to the scene at 6:50 p.m. and found a construction dumpster fully involved in flames next to a piece of equipment.

According to officials, the fire appears to have been caused by spontaneous combustion of oily rags. Two brush units, Nez Perce Tribe Fire, a personal water truck, and two sheriff’s deputies were also on scene.

No injuries were reported. The fire department extended thanks to Nez Perce Tribe crews and the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
