POWELL, ID – The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a 911 call of a domestic battery incident during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Dispatch received the call at approximately 1:30 a.m. regarding a disturbance at the Cedar Grove rest area near Powell. Deputies who arrived at the scene spoke with both parties involved.

Following the investigation, 33-year-old Jevon Calland was taken into custody. He faces charges of felony attempted strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery, inflicting traumatic injury.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The charges represent allegations at the time of arrest.
