SYRINGA, ID – An Idaho County deputy arrested a man on multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Highway 12.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on August 19, 2025, at approximately 9:15 p.m., when a deputy contacted a driver parked in a pullout near milepost 88, about three miles west of Syringa.
K9 Millie was brought to the scene and conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle, alerting deputies to the presence of narcotics.
Deputies arrested 46-year-old Jeremy Umphenour. He faces charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of a legend drug without a prescription, and misdemeanor public intoxication.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
