MERIDIAN, ID – A Meridian man has been arrested following an investigation into suspected child exploitation, according to the Meridian Police Department.
In August 2025, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force alerted Meridian police to a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives launched an investigation and identified Shawn C. Sorensen as a suspect.
On August 20, officers served a search warrant at Sorensen’s residence, where they seized evidence indicating possession of child sexual abuse material. Sorensen was taken into custody and booked into the Ada County Jail on 10 counts of child exploitation.
The Meridian Police Department thanked the ICAC Task Force and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office for their assistance in the case, noting their partnership is critical in protecting children.
