PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University’s in-house graphic design department is being eliminated under new President Betsy Cantwell as she continues to downsize the institution.

An online post on the WSU website Wednesday announced the elimination of central graphic design services. The department will close at the end of October. The cut is part of the university’s spending reductions to deal with state and federal government funding declines.

WSU’s printing department called CougarPrints Plus will continue to operate.

The statement also notes that last month the administration moved Mailing Services under WSU Facilities Services.

This is the latest notable spending cut and downsizing at WSU since President Cantwell was hired last winter.
