WSU Police Officers Responded to a Weapons Call at Courtyard by Marriott in Pullman

PULLMAN, WA – On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 6:37 a.m., WSU Police Officers responded to a report from a woman whose son had contacted her from his room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, 1295 NE North Fairway Rd, stating that someone with a gun was in the room. The son stated he couldn’t talk and told his mother to call the police.

When police arrived, a male came out of the room and was uncooperative and resisted arrest. The subject was tased and detained. Officers cleared the room and determined there were no other individuals present, and no firearm was located. The subject, who is not affiliated with Washington State University, was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital for evaluation.

WSU Police were assisted by Pullman Police and Pullman Fire Department. There is no ongoing active threat to the WSU community.
