Human Remains Found in Oregon Storage Unit Identified; Suspect Arrested in Colorado

THE DALLES, OR – Human remains discovered inside a storage unit in The Dalles have been identified as a 39-year-old woman known locally as “Kiki,” according to the City of The Dalles Police Department.

On July 29, officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a storage facility on West 6th Street. After initial investigation, authorities activated the Mid-Columbia Major Crimes Team, which includes agencies from The Dalles, Wasco, Hood River, Gilliam, and Sherman counties, along with the Oregon State Police. Klickitat County, Washington, law enforcement has also joined the case.

Investigators with the Oregon State Police Crime Lab assisted in opening a storage container, where the remains were located. The Oregon Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed the identity as Meihong He, originally from China and a resident of the Mid-Columbia area. Her family has been notified.

Since the discovery, detectives have pursued leads across multiple states, including California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. Their investigation identified a person of interest: 59-year-old Richard Michael “Mike” Robinson of The Dalles, who also spent time in Klickitat County.

On August 25, Robinson was arrested in Berthoud, Colorado, by the U.S. Marshals Service on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. He remains in custody at the Larimer County Jail awaiting extradition to Oregon.

Authorities stress the case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information about Robinson or the case is urged to contact The Dalles Police Department at 541-296-2613 or 541-296-2233. Tips may also be submitted via email at Policecontact@ci.the-dalles.or.us or online through Tip 411.
