31-Year-Old Man Sentenced to Probation After Guilty Plea in Drug Case

MOSCOW, ID – The 31-year-old man who was arrested in Moscow for allegedly selling narcotics has pleaded guilty to felony drug possession.

Shaun Claypool pleaded guilty to the methamphetamine count this week in Latah County Second District Court. Judge Megan Marshall sentenced Claypool to three years of probation, ordered that he complete the drug court program, and conduct 100 hours of community service.

Claypool was arrested with 28-year-old Cyra Cunningham in July when Moscow Police checked on them while they were sleeping in a car on Lieuallen Street. The department’s drug sniffing dog Ragnar found meth, fentanyl pills, a scale, and hundreds of dollars in cash inside the vehicle.

Claypool and Cunningham were initially charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Cunningham pleaded guilty earlier this month to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 16 days in jail and credited for already serving that time.
