WENATCHEE, WA – The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, alongside federal, state, and local partners, continues its search for Travis Decker, who remains wanted on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree kidnapping.
Sheriff Michael Morrison issued a statement Monday thanking the public and partner agencies for their support in the case, which he said “has shaken the foundation of our county.” Decker is accused in the deaths of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker.
The FBI Seattle Field Office is coordinating a large-scale search near Rock Island Campground outside Leavenworth. The operation covers steep, heavily forested terrain on U.S. Forest Service land.
Nearly 100 FBI personnel are involved, including special agents, intelligence analysts, task force officers, and specialty units such as SWAT, evidence response, and medical teams. Experts from the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group and Laboratory Division are also assisting.
Partner agencies include the U.S. Marshals Service, Port of Seattle Police Department, Yakima Police Department, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, U.S. Forest Service Wenatchee River District, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division, and Central Washington University’s Anthropology Department.
Sheriff Morrison said search conditions remain difficult, with steep hillsides, dense brush, and limited cell service. Despite extensive efforts over the past three months, investigators have not found conclusive evidence on whether Decker is alive or deceased.
The U.S. Marshals Service continues to offer a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Decker’s arrest. Authorities warn he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
