LEWISTON, ID – The National Weather Service is forecasting scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Inland Northwest on Wednesday.
Forecasters say the strongest storms are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening in southeast Washington and the lower Idaho Panhandle. These storms could produce locally heavy rainfall, with rates of half an inch to one inch per hour., according to NWS forecasters.
The Weather Service notes that confidence in the exact location of the heaviest showers remains low, but the greatest chances are within the green-shaded 5% area and the yellow-shaded 15% area on the forecast map.
