Cougar Nation to See More Crimson and Gray as WSU Women’s Basketball Hits CW Airwaves

PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University women’s basketball and other Cougar athletics are set to receive increased national attention following the Pac-12 Conference’s extended broadcast agreement with The CW Network.

The agreement, announced this week, runs through the 2030–31 season and expands The CW’s coverage of Pac-12 sports beginning with the 2026–27 season. Under the deal, the network will televise 13 regular-season football games, 35 men’s basketball games, and for the first time, 15 women’s basketball games annually. It will also air the semifinal and championship rounds of the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament.

WSU President Elizabeth Cantwell said the expanded visibility marks a significant step forward for Cougar athletics.
“This partnership with The CW greatly expands national visibility for Washington State University, shining a spotlight on our student-athletes and the strength of Cougar athletics,” Cantwell said. “It is especially gratifying that women’s basketball will now have a consistent presence on nationwide broadcasts. This kind of exposure elevates women’s sports and inspires the next generation of athletes”.

The CW has emerged as a growing player in live sports broadcasting, with Pac-12 matchups consistently ranking among its highest-rated programs. For WSU, the agreement means women’s basketball, which has already built a competitive reputation in the conference, will now reach fans across the country through free, over-the-air broadcasts.

Cougar supporters can expect to see more crimson and gray on national screens in the years ahead as the Pac-12 and The CW strengthen their commitment to equity and visibility in collegiate athletics.
