Driver Flees After Truck Crashes Into Bike Rack at Asotin-Anatone School

ASOTIN, WA – The Asotin Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred late Thursday morning near the Asotin-Anatone School.

According to police, the incident happened at approximately 11:13 a.m. when a white Dodge pickup truck traveling eastbound on 1st Street veered onto the curb, crossed the sidewalk and grass, and struck a bike rack in front of the school. The collision caused significant damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

The driver fled the scene, heading east on 1st Street before turning south on 2nd Street, where the vehicle was lost from view. School staff quickly moved students to safety and contacted law enforcement. Staff members were also able to record the vehicle’s license plate, which aided investigators.
