COTTONWOOD, ID — The Bureau of Land Management’s Cottonwood Field Office has temporarily closed certain amenities at the Hammer Creek Recreation Site along the Lower Salmon River due to a septic system failure.

The issue, which began August 20, affects the RV dump station and flush toilet building. Both facilities are out of service until repairs are completed, with improvements expected by late October.

The site remains open for recreation, and vault toilets are still available. Visitors are advised to use alternative RV dump stations until service is restored.
