Driver Injured in Highway 95 Crash: Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office Urges Caution

LEWISTON, ID – On August 29th, 2025 at about 3:29 pm, the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office responded to an unknown injury collision at Mile Post 315 on highway 95. The driver was heading southbound and collided with the guard rail, resulting with the vehicle’s engine being ripped out and the vehicle going airborne for about 10ft before landing and coming to a stop.

The driver was taken to St. Joe’s and treated for injuries. Lack of sleep and speed were factors in this crash.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to get adequate sleep before getting behind the wheel. It is also imperative that you plan your day correctly by accounting for time, make sure you are giving yourself plenty of time so you do not speed. Although we are nearing the end of the 100 deadliest days in Idaho, it is imperative that you are safe while getting behind the wheel! Not only for yourself, but also for those that you share the road with.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office wants the public to know that, by Idaho law, you are required to slow down and move over when you see emergency lights on the side of the road. This is not only for your safety, but for the safety of emergency personnel that will be entering and leaving an incident area. Please be aware of this and SLOW DOWN!

The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Idaho State Police for their assistance in this matter.
