LEWISTON, ID – Lewis-Clark State College’s drama club will host a preview performance of the new play Third Person on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Silverthorne Theatre. The showing is free to attend, open to the public, and recommended for ages 10 and up.
The play, written by acclaimed playwright Catherine Filloux, explores the lives of three central characters: Octavio, a high school student with a passion for learning; Diane, his mother, who works as an English teacher and poet; and Robert, a wealthy CEO of a defense conglomerate. LC State student Marcus De Vera, humanities administrative assistant Leilani Farrell, and theatre instructor Lane Richins will perform in the preview.
Richins, who is also directing the production, described the work as carrying “missile-like precision, where humor, poetry, passion, intelligence are used to exact effect.” He noted that the timing of the preview coincides with National Self-Care Awareness Month, aligning with the play’s themes.
The Sept. 13 performance is one of only two previews being staged nationwide ahead of the play’s world premiere at CultureHub in New York City on Sept. 20.
